Basic Function: To accurately perform duties in sales and customer service, receiving and stocking inventory, plant care.

To follow all policies/procedures and operate the cash register.

Provide guidance to customers on the selection and care of plants, shrubs, trees, and related items.

Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service. Provide advice and guidance to customers related to plant choices and care.

Maintain plant health through correct care and placement.

Accurately and efficiently complete sales transactions and maintain proper accountability on the register.

Plant, fertilize, weed, prune, repot, and water plants, shrubs, and trees in the nursery using hand and gardening tools.

Maintain the inventory of nursery contents.

Maintain clean work areas, grounds, and landscaping.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Excellent verbal communication skills.

Ability to work with a cash register.

Able to redirect any complaints or problems as they arise from customers to relevant management.

Basic plant knowledge or the willingness to learn about plants and gardening.

Reliable transportation.

Prolonged periods of walking, standing, lifting, and moving items.

Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time.

Must be able to push, pull, bend, lift, and stretch in order to care for plants and arrange them within the nursery.

The ability to stand on your feet for several hours. 

The ability to work in the outdoors in all seasons.
